We Got SPAMed!

Apologies to all. Due to my move from SF to Mountain View, I transfered the site from my garage to a real hosting provider and I guess due to the increase in bandwidth, spammers found us!

Again due to the move, I haven't had much time to monitor the site and only just discovered that we have many spam content and comments added during my absence.

I have tightened user registration to require administrator approval and hopefully this will cut back on spams.

Sorry for any inconvenience or offense.

Silkreeler Moved to Siteground!

Me, the Web Master (or more appropriately the Web Slave) is moving to Mountain View with my whole family. Being a cheap guy, I have decided not to subscribe to a broadband service and I will give Google's free city wide Wifi in Mountain View a try... However, this means I can't really host the server from home like I used to.

So silkreeler needs a new home.

After a little investigation, I selected Siteground as the new hosting provider - and they are Good! Cost effective too!

They transfered the site and helped me trouble shoot some config issues quickly and I must say I am impressed - so far :-)

More people/sites are posting their photos of Beijing Conference online... check out these links:

Anna's site

Japan

...

I am still in the middle of sorting our 1000's of pictures (excuses... excuses...)

Life of a part time web master

OK, after googling whenever I have time, finally tracked the problem to apache limiting maximum upload filesize. I had to edit the hidden file .htaccess for drupal to instruct Apache to let large uploads thru:

<Files *.php>
LimitRequestBody 8388608
RequestHeader unset If-Modified-Since
</Files>

Now image upload is working again!

Back From First International Hunyuan Conference Beijing - House Not In Order

Drupal Image Gallery IS BROKEN?

This is ridiculous!

I have a stressful tech job with a rapidly growing dot com, I have a young family with 2 very energetic boys (see our site), I have a neglected personal Taiji practice, I just got back from Beijing leading a group of over 15 helpless non Chinese speaking gringos (and Master Zhang wasn't there as he was sick and hospitalized), I am nursing a bad cold, and I have to maintain this website... and now I can't figure out why drupal wouldn't allow me to upload images to galleries?

Silkreeler Face Lift - or rather, Re-Incarnation!

After almost 8 years of using a statically maintained web site, I finally got my act together to move the site over to a full blown content management system - Drupal.

Eventhough it is a relatively vanilla implementation of Drupal, let me tell ya - this is extremely labor intensive! Elbow breaking work... So far I have migrated most of the content from the old site over, but I have yet to complete the migration of photos yet. Please be patient.

Please let me know what you think.

Thanks.
